Meet the Team


Mr. Ketlhomilwe Moletsane


Executive Secretary
Holds a Certificate in Social and Community Development from the Botswana Accountancy College obtained in 1982, and a diploma in Adult Education from the university of Botswana acquired in 2002. He has an extensive background of development worker and remote areas development officer. Mr Moletsane worked with civil society organization from 1989 up to 2004 when he joined politics as a nominated councilor for the Southern District Council. During his turner with NGOs he served in various managerial positions including the post extension Policy Programme Officer for the forum on sustainable Agriculture and Chief Executive Officer for the Botswana Council of Non-Governmental Organisations - BOCONGO. Mr Moletsane was instrumental in the setting up of the secretariat of the BALA having developed the first five year strategic plan 2006-2010

Mrs Ludo Matshameko


Acting Deputy Executive Secretary
Holds an MSc in Human Resource Development. 30 years working experience for the local government in the councils at different levels up to the position of Assistant council secretary. Worked with BALA from 1997 to date as project manager.

Mr. Steve Mylon Pheko


Finance Officer
Holds a diploma in Accountancy and Business Studies, has worked as a banker for a period of five years with Barclays Bank of Botswana Ltd, Commercial Officer with Rural Industries Promotions Company for nine years, councilor and chairman of the finance and general purposes committee of the southern district council for five years.

Mrs. Puseletso M. Taunyane


Administration Officer
Puseletso M. Taunyane has worked as a Guest Relations Officer for the Grand Palm Hotel & Casino Resort from 1997 - 2000. She then resigned to further her Studies, currently holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Applied Public Relations from Midrand Graduate Institute in South Africa. She joined BALA in 2008 as a volunteer when the Secretariat was established. She is currently the Administration Officer for the Association.

Ms. Orateng Serojane


General Duties Assistant
Orateng Serojane, a Junior Certificate holder, has worked as a waitress for Cresta Lodge in 2006. She volunteered for BALA in 2008 when the Office was established. She currently works as a General Duties Assistant Officer for the Association.

Mr Mopati Masunga


Process Facilitator - P3
Mopati masunga is a 30 year old (2004) graduate of the University of Botswana with a Bachelor of social work degree. Upon graduating from his alma mater, he joined what was then Sowa township Authority( to be later called Sowa Town Council) as Social Welfare officer as coordinator of the Social Welfare strategic business unit.Among his notable achievements while at Sowa Township was the setting up of'Lekwaladikgang',the 'Township Authority's newsletter which he served as its founding editor.He also served as director of protocol during the time when members of the Authority visited Namibia on a fact finding mission in relation to wildlife managemnet community trusts.After having served for five years,he moved to join Medical rescue international in Gaborone, where he joined their Counselling division as a counsellor though only for a short stint which lasted for four months.And for his passion in corporate governance,organizational development and strategy,BALA was his natural destination, which he joined in May 2010 to date.He serves as Process facilitator within the P3 project where he is working with the three councils of Southern,Kgatleng and Lobatse in the areas of transparent local governance and local economic development.He likes reading,travelling and cinema and hopes to enrol for a Master of Business Administration(Management) this year as they say that the road to enlightment is always under constrution.


Ms Segametsi Oreeditse Moatlhaping


Country Project Manager - P3
Segametsi is a proactive, adaptable and conscientious Development Practitioner with ten years of national and international experience in organisational development field. She is a W.K. Kellogg Fellow and holds a Masters of Philosophy in Sustainable Development and Planning and Management, a Master of Arts in Development Studies and a Degree of Bachelor of Social Work. Whilst working for Government of Botswana, she co-facilitated the drafting of Chapter 12 of National Development Plan 10 which focuses on key result area of an Open and Transparent Governance. Her professional interests include public policy analysis, public sector reforms, governance, youth development, advocacy, HIV/AIDS and Gender Mainstreaming and research. She served as a board member of various institutions, locally and internationally and spent most of her life as a youth development advocate and as a national and regional youth leader who puts humanity very much at the forefront of her career development.
